Description: Acacia melanoxylon is found in cool and wet upland regions. It grows best in deep, moist and fertile soils, but grows also on sandy and alluvial soils, and in wet nearly swampy places. This evergreen tree has dark, grey-green leaves and creamy yellow flowers from July to October. Features a dense canopy that provides excellent shade and shelter and habitat reinforcement / extension. Can be used under powerlines and on nature strips but will require formative pruning to develop a single trunk.
