Description: Extremely tall and generally single trunked native Australian tree, the Elaeocarpus grandis is a rainforest canopy tree often seen stretching above the general tree line often reaching to 40 metres. These trees will develop a large buttressed trunk and have a dark grey to brown smooth bark. For such a large tree, the Elaeocarpus grandis has a surprisingly petite flower. Small white clusters of flowers gather on the undersides of the branches, their small size is a direct contrast to the enormity of the tree.
